I think most people can accept any individual trans person, it's missing the point to lecture them about it. Cis people are freaking out at the collective phenomenon, which to them seemingly came out of nowhere, is huge, and growing. And we sort of have to meet people where they are and address that. Tell them how it's not new, exchange theories on the (real or apparent) sudden rise.


I mean personally I feel like trans people don't have to explain their existence, individually or collectively, to anyone to demand rights. But if people are going to attempt it anyway, I want them to do it effectively.
